Baptisms
We welcome enquiries for baptism (christening) from those who live in the parish, from regular worshippers & those who have a connection with St Mary's. We are delighted that you want to find out more about God and following Jesus!
Please come along to one of our services to begin with and speak to the vicar at the end. We'll then arrange a time when we can come and chat with you about the different options for the service and the promises that you feel able to make. Some families choose to have a Service of Thanksgiving while others choose Baptism. We'd love to help you explore the options and to think about who Jesus is!
Whether you are seeking baptism for your children, or you want to be baptised yourself (as many people are these days), you will be making promises before God and the church about your life and the upbringing of your children. Similarly, in the Baptism Service, we as a church will be making promises to you before God, to help you in your journey.
We will arrange to visit you a few times to help you understand and decide what is best for you and your family.
Baptisms normally occur on the second Sunday of the month at the 10.30 am Service.
