Great news: The Chancellor’s judgement on St Mary's Major Refurbishment
We can proceed!
This is the Conclusion of the judgement
I direct that a faculty issue in respect of all the works referred to in the Petition save for the removal of the font, its cover and its bracket.
I make what is the usual order in respect of costs. It is that the Petitioners pay the costs of the Petition. Because I failed to attend the Directions hearing in July 2009, I have earlier said that no Chancellor’s fee is to be recovered. In respect of the hearing on 25th January 2010, a fee for the judgment is to be paid.
I express here my gratitude to Counsel Mr T.J Clarke for his preparation for and conduct of this hearing. I express my gratitude to Ms Baldwin, conservation advisor at the Victoria Society for the potency of her evidence, for the clarity with which she expressed her points and the moderation of her arguments.
